Man's Jump, Thousand Oaks, California

Man's Jump Cliff Diving Spot Ca

This is a rogue hike into the middle of a nature preserve. The ranger waits at the top of the canyon over the cliff jump and leads you out of the canyon where you then recieve a ticket.
Sometimes he's there sometimes he's not but it's always the same guy. He recognized me after 20 months. You were warned and the ticket runs $1000.00.
Drive to Thousand Oaks on Hwy 101 and take the Ventu Park exit. Northbound traffic turns right and southbound traffic turns left. Drive through 3 stoplights. You will see a tennis court on a small hill with a parking lot at the base. Park and walk to the back of the parking lot. Follow the dirt road downhill and keep heading that direction when the road ends. It's about a 15 minute hike if you know the way.
The jumps are about 32 feet, or 30 dollars a foot. I enjoy the small but raging waterfalls here but the trashy nature of graffitti and garbage ruins the nautral splendor of this place. It feels really far away but you can hear ballgames in the park, it's a great place
