Rindge Dam, Malibu, California
This spot is a must see for any cliff jumper. It is the best location for pure cliff jumping that I have found yet.
Take The Pacific Coast Highway, Hwy 1, to Malibu. Turn left on Malibu Canyon Road, just past Pepperdine University. Drive until you go through a tunnel. The parking lot is on the left about a mile up the road from the tunnel. If you cross Piuma Road turn around and go park.
Walk towards the tunnel. After you walk throught the tunnel you can make your way down into the canyon floor anytime and head downstream. I stay on the road until I get to mile marker 1.86 and then clamber down the boulder hill, our path is right next to a telephone 150 feet from where the car safey railing wall ends. Cross the creek at the top of the Dam and make your way down the left hand side, while facing downstrream, of the larger dam. The jumps range in hieght from 1 foot to 80 feet. This is a good hike to make in early spring because the water is pouring over the dam so hard the wind whipped mist will soak you in seconds flat.
