A Wild & Scenic river is one that flows from it's headwaters as an unmodified waterway by humans. This contrasts with mankind's desire for flood control and water storage. Dams are the biggest threat to natural rivers, with the exception of the concrete ditch that passes for LA River. The Los Padres Canyoneers lead hikes along four pristine, natural rivers. We also hike the modified creeks and especially love to play on abandoned dams.
The emphasis is on cliff jumping but the numerous cascades, springs and pools make it even more rewarding. We plan on being a licensed operation but our safety record speaks for itself. The Los Padres Canyoneers is a non-commercial operation that leads groups of hikers into the backcountry.
